How To Play Catch The Target v1

Instructions: Use the arrow keys to move your player (black square) to the target (red square) within the time range. To win a round, you have to get 50 hits without getting 16 misses. If you get 16 misses, you lose the round. In the instructions, the speed range is displayed as minimum speed-maximum range. To start a new game, press the Start a New Game button and follow the onscreen prompts.

The maximum time to hit the target, the size of the target and player, and the speed range of the player are as follows (note that the dimensions of the target and the player are always identical, but they differ in each game mode):

• Easy Mode:

  • Player and Target size: 25x25 pixels

  • Maximum time to make contact with the target: 7 seconds

  • Speed of the player: 1x

• Medium Mode:

  • Player and Target size: 20x20 pixels

  • Maximum time to make contact with the target: 5 seconds

  • Speed range of the player: 1x

• Hard Mode: 

  • Player and Target size: 13x13 pixels

  • Maximum time to make contact with the target: 3 seconds

  • Speed range of the player: 1x

• Ultra Hard Mode:

  • Player and Target size: 10x10 pixels

  • Maximum time to make contact with the target: 2.8 seconds

  • Speed range of the player: 0.6x

Press the S key to save a game in progress. Do note that if you load the game at another time and then finish it, it will not count toward global highscores. Press L or click the Load from Save button to load from a save. To reset your personal highscores, hold R and D simultanouesly for 3 seconds while on the highscores screen, then follow the onscreen prompts.

To toggle cheat mode, quickly tap C (only once). However, enabling cheat mode will make you ineligible for high scores for that round, even if you save your game and resume at a later time using the save code, or disable it before you finish the round. Cheat mode allows you to multiply the player speed range by a chosen amount, and you can toggle whether the player automatically moves at that speed toward the target.

Important Notes: W-A-S-D cannot be used to move your player as S is the save game button. 

Additional Notes and Information: You need a minimum screen resolution of 1920x1080. A high score with a value of 0 means that it has not been set yet by any person.
